Urban Coders Guild teaches coding to middle and high school students from historically underserved and underrepresented communities. We are dedicated to providing equitable access to an increasing range of STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education.
We currently offer three student cohorts:
- iOS mobile app development (9th – 12th grade) – Students learn to make iPhone and iPad apps using Swift.
- Android app development (9th – 12th grade) – Students learn to make Android apps using Java.
Each cohort also learns the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, project management, and UI/UX. Whether our students go on to study at a vocational program, or a to a four-year institution, or to their first job, or to launch their first business, we want to give our students the skills and experience to thrive in STEM.
Urban Coders Guild (UCG) Professionals is a professional community dedicated to creating a sense of belonging to STEM/IT industry professionals from historically underserved and underrepresented communities.
