Urban Coders Guild Recruiting 2020-2021 Student Cohort!

We are looking for middle and high school students with a strong interest in STEM, computer science, and/or coding. Previous experience is nice, but we most want to serve our underserved students that have the interest and commitment to stick with it. Our first sessions will be the week of October 5, and we will meet virtually for 1-hour each week thereafter. We will provide students in the two mobile application cohorts with the necessary devices (MacBook Air) to use for the duration of the program. We are committed to removing all of the barriers to accessing STEM education opportunities, so this program is completely free to the students!

Upon completion of the programs, students will be able to build websites and create iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android mobile apps. Students will also be connected with internship and mentorship opportunities with local tech companies. This year, Urban Coders Guild students will use their acquired web development skills in a capstone project, creating a collection of websites for the businesses lost in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Students in the mobile app cohort will collaborate on the creation of an Augmented Reality walking tour of Greenwood. We are inviting your students the chance to participate in particularly meaningful project that will serve as an online resource for future students.
